Venue Name Changes

I would like venues who have gone through name changes to still show all the gigs played at that venue regardless of the name. For example, NIN has played a few times at what is now known as the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. They played there while it was Great Woods Amphitheater, the Tweeter Center, and now the Comcast Center. However, looking at the Comcast Center page only shows the one show played there since the name change, rather than all shows at the physical venue. I hope this becomes resolved at some point as it would make searching a lot easier as well as complete.

I was just thinking about this. I was looking back to see what Amphitheatre venues I recall being pleasant and it struck me that Lakewood & Hifi Buys are listed as different venues.

Certainly, this would be a time consuming project as these bloody venues change names with great frequency when a new sponsor wants to pay for naming rights.

It might be easier just to keep the names as they were when the concert happened and just tally them as the same venue in the database if at all possible. Regardless, it's not a huge request but something that might be helpful as time goes on.

It'd be pretty easy for those familiar with the area to note the venues they know were renamed.

Dallas: Starplex, Smirnoff, and Fair Park are the same venue.
Austin Venues are all unique
